Achatz Handmade Pie Co

We haven't been here in a while and we thought a pie would be nice. The woman behind the counter asked if I knew what I wanted and when I told her apple, she said, "Oh I have fresh apple for you", this was definitely not fresh. I already knew they were overpriced but this was $19 and let me say this is not even worth $9. It's small, the crust is white and flavorless, the apple filling is pure mush and very little apple flavor. Needless to say we won't be back, I'll stick with Blake's, they are cheaper and better.

I had people from out of town come in I went there on Tuesday the fifth to pick up a pie. I got a four Barry Michigan pie and the whole bottom crust was stuck to the pan. I was so embarrassed, scraping the bottom of a piece of pie off the pan never again. And I will be sharing my experience with all my friends that go there. They need to straighten their butts out.

Very disappointed in the pies we bought for Thanksgiving, the quality has gone down. We buy the autumn harvest and French silk every year, which were always excellent. They’ve changed the whipped cream and load the top with too much to hide the reduced filling. The cream was gummy and we had to scrap it off and the nut layer was half of what it used to be. Unfortunately, probably won’t be ordering again.

Decided to buy a pecan pie today. It's been several months since my husband had one. This will be my LAST purchase at Achatz Pie Company ever. At first we thought it was nice that the price was the same as months ago, until we picked up the bag and noticed how light it was. They kept the same price, but the size and quality of the pie was pathetic! It's mostly crust now, hardly any pie, and about a third smaller than they used to make. This place has always been way overpriced, but now, it's really ridiculous. You can go to the grocery store and spend well under $10 for something much better. Bye Bye Achatz, you'll never see us again!!

Definitely not what they used to be!! I was looking so forward to having the chocolate silk pie for my birthday instead of my favorite birthday cake from East Detroit Bakery, well I definitely made the wrong choice this year! Picked up my pie on Thursday, chocolate silk,well when I got home to enjoy with family a big hunk of the Crust was missing, that was only the start. The whole crust was over cooked and super thin that was one of the reasons I love this pie so much the crust was awesome, not anymore!! And the worst thing was they change the the whip topping, it literally taste like what they sell at Gordon Foods in the freezer dept. It was some kind of cheap whipped topping not what they used to have. You would think that would be the worst, but when I checked out it even jumped in price( Alot) definitely not happy with what I purchased for $21 I would have had no problem spending $21 if the pie was like it used to be an excellent french silk pie with out of this world crust and a rally good thick real cream topping not cool whip. This time I was not a happy camper. Go back to your original recipe it was to die for you would have got a Five Star Plus, sorry definitely not this time.

Best pie ever! Hands down! I accidentally ran into Achatz Handmade Pie Company plant and retail Store in Chesterfield, Michigan. I had never heard the name of Achatz Pie’s. Also an entrepreneur in the food business, I was intrigued to stop by and see what they had to offer. I purchased two chicken pot pies (Large) and a 10 inch Apple Cranberry pie. The apple cranberry was devoured within the first evening, super delicious every one loved it. Today, I had an opportunity to try the chicken pot pie. Absolutely, positively the best comfort food you ever want to try. Simply outstanding! Now that I know they have several locations, as well as available at other retail markets I’m looking forward to enjoying more of Achatz pie products. You should too!
